The largest producer of magnesium in North America wanted to build the first lithium carbonate plant in Utah. Lithium is a key raw material in the production of lithium ion batteries and ceramics and is a by-product of processed magnesium. They needed an experienced and reputable engineering firm equipped to handle and assist in every engineering discipline.
They selected JEPCO for the expansive project. Helping to respond to the rising demand for battery powered energy made the project exciting. An added measure of excitement is that the project was named 2019 Associated General Contractors of Utah Energy/Industrial Project of the Year and we were recognized in three categories! Those categories were Lead Design Firm, Structural Engineer and Civil Engineer.
