Lessons from the JEPCO Team
Jōb EPC Company began 20 years ago in a space above a laundromat. Since 2005, we’ve grown into a trusted industry leader, delivering excellence in engineering, procurement, construction and specialty chemical optimization services. As we celebrate this anniversary, our team members are reflecting on 20 lessons they’ve learned along the way.
1. Relationships Outlast the Work
“Projects come and go, but the relationships I have made with the people I work with and the customers we’ve served have lasted throughout my career, and they will continue well after I’m no longer at JEPCO.”
– Jason Job, Chairman
2. Safety First
“Above all, safety remains the number one objective in any project. That will never change.”
– Keith Estay, Safety Coordinator

4. Adaptability is Key
“Engineers must be ready to learn how to design projects that can withstand climate, supply chain issues and labor shortages.”
– Mike Flores, Civil/Structural Staff Designer I
5. Embrace Innovation
“The speed of business has accelerated and continues to accelerate. There is constant pressure to do our work faster and at a lower cost. To remain profitable, companies must continue to develop smarter tools that help us work faster and more accurately.”

“Collaborate closely with your clients to refine project scope and ensure their needs are fully met.”

– Kevin McKee, Director of Construction Services
8. The Best Solution is Often the Simplest
“Quickly finding the best solution is essential. Oftentimes, there are many solutions to a problem. Identifying which would be the simplest and most cost-effective without spending much time and cost to explore multiple solutions is an invaluable skill.”
– Mark Rawlings, Civil/Structural Engineering Manager
9. Personalize But Be Practical
“Clients want tailored solutions, but not at the expense of efficiency or cost-effectiveness.”
– Michelle McKee, Administrative Assistant

10. Have Solutions, Not Excuses

“Companies that pay fairly, expect excellence, and respect their employees will outperform anyone else. Treat employees as valuable contributors, and they will deliver results.”
– Lisa Tyree, Vice President

13. The Customer Comes First
“Always be of service to your customer. Solve the problems presented to you by your customer—it’s what they are looking for!”
– Norris Washington, Senior Staff Piping Designer
14. These Two Values Will Get You Far
“In the last 20 years, the truth and good communication have never gone out of style.”
– Tiffany Presswood, Piping Designer
15. Innovate or Become Obsolete
